2010 Airshows
F-22 Raptors. The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) is a very large Air show containing hundreds of modern military aircraft in the static line-up and air display from many different countries around the world.

This Airshow is usually held at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire which is a large base used infrequently by USAF deployments which makes it an ideal venue for such a large Airshow.

RIAT usually takes place over a weekend in July, and you can also view the aircraft on arrival days and departure day.

2010 AIRSHOWS

17-18 July Royal International Air Tattoo

RIAT 2010 Main Themes:

Battle of Britain 70th Anniversary
In 2010 we will celebrate one of the most iconic moments in modern history - the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The Air Tattoo will salute the multi-national World War II pilots, referred to by Winston Churchill as 'the few', who fought off the aerial invasion of Britain in 1940, against all odds.

Training
This is the operational theme for the participants to ensure that those Air Forces attending the Air Tattoo with their aircraft really benefit from the experience. From ab initio flying through to type conversion flying, training is essential to prepare aircrews for future operations.

Cadet150
2010 will mark 150 years since the Cadet movement started, when the Cadet Corps was formed to bolster the country's defences following the Crimean War. Although their role has changed over the years, they take pride in their affinity with the Armed Forces – the Royal Air Force, the Royal Navy, the Army and - and the lessons of good citizenship and discipline. The Royal International Air Tattoo has strong links to the Cadet movement and will help them celebrate Cadet150.

Tri@RIAT
The Tri@RIAT attraction brings together a feast of entertaining and interactive activities that are specifically designed to inspire and excite youngsters. From engineering and robotics to sport and music, there's a wealth of opportunities for young people to expand their horizons through play.
