The AeroExpo London 2008 is to be held at Booker Airfield, High Wycombe, London on 13-15th June 2008.

This event will showcase ALL sections of the market, including the latest Aircraft available - from light aircraft, or Pistons and Turboprops from all the major manufacturers, to Gliders and Power Gliders; AeroExpo has them covered.

Maybe you’re looking for the latest on aircraft engines, propellers, avionics, accessories, spare parts, maintenance, safety, fuel, oils, tyres, flight training schools, simulators, pilot supplies, insurance, or other General Aviation-related product or service. You’ll find them all at AeroExpo!

AeroExpo Prague is the European General Aviation Exhibition for all involved in general aviation from ultralights through to business jets. Abingdon Air & Country Show 2008

The Abingdon Air & Country Show takes place at Abingdon in Oxfordshire on 4th May 2008.

It's not just an air show! The Abingdon Air & Country Show will have, as well as a large scale fly-in of both modern & vintage aeroplanes and the associated air display - vintage vehicles; steam machinery; arena events including dog agility, music and dancing; craft fayre, military recruitment display, bouncy castle, climbing wall, mini quad bikes and other kids amusements and much more!

We have always aimed to make our show a great family day out with lots to do and see for everybody - and it's all for charity, as we support the local Air Ambulance. The Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance, like all Air Ambulance services in the UK, is funded entirely by donations from the public and private companies.

Pleasure flights - Air Atlantique Classic Flight
Hopefully the end of the display will see a mass launch and ascent of hot-air balloons (weather permitting, around 17:30).

The static display will consist of over 60 military & civilian jets, helicopters, transport & light aviation types. Currently expected static display items are RAF Hawk, RAF Merlin (tbc), Bulldog, five Chipmunks, Jet Provost T.3, Jet Provost T.5, Tiger Moth, Soko Kraguj, Fox Moth, Bell Jetranger, Austers, Long EZ, Yak-52s, Robinson R44, Piper Archer, Beagle Pup, Vans RV9 and various microlights along with several aircraft cockpit sections. A Sopwith Pup and a very rare Junkers W34 project will also be on display.

Newark Air Museum Events 2008

At Newark Air Museum

Throughout 2008 Newark Air Museum celebrates a series of anniversaries. To make these special the museum volunteers have put together their most ambitious set of events ever! These are listed in three categories for which different admission rates may apply.

On-Site Events 2008

Admission for each of the following events is Adults £6.25, Over 60s £5.75, Children £4.00 and Family ticket [2 adults & 3 children] £18.50.

7 February: Celebrations to mark the 25th Anniversary of Vulcan XM594 being flown in to Winthorpe Airfield; Free admission to the Vulcan cockpit on this day for anyone paying to visit the museum.

9 to 17 February: Half–Term Open Cockpits – each day during the half-term period at least one cockpit will be open for inspection [a small additional fee is charge to access the cockpit]

13 March: Buccaneer Anniversary Markings – unveiling of a set of temporary anniversary markings on XN964 to celebrate the types 50th Anniversary and the 20th Anniversary of XN964 being delivered to the museum.

24 & 25 May: Fighter Cockpit Days – special opening & viewing of some of the museum's fighters.

14 & 15 June: Cockpit-Fest 2008 & Aeroboot – Annual display of visiting cockpits from around the country & the traditional Aeroboot avionics and aviation goods sale.

13 & 14 September: Battle of Britain Open Cockpits - special opening & viewing of some of the museum's cockpits and a range of visiting displays.

Special On-Site Events 2008

Enthusiast Tours - The first five dates for 2008 has now been agreed for the popular Newark Air Museum Enthusiast Tours and these will be on the following Saturdays. Please note that the museum is open as normal on these dates:

Places are only available by pre-booking and the all-inclusive entrance fee is £15 per person. Tour participants are greeted with a welcome snack before being taken in small escorted groups onto various museum aircraft including: Hastings, Shackleton, Varsity, Vulcan, Canberra & Phantom Cockpit. A special part of each tour is a behind the scenes tour to see "missing airframes" i.e. those undergoing restoration or that are in long-term storage around the site. After the tour, participants are free to wander around the extensive museum site at their leisure. Each Enthusiast Tour is limited to just 12 participants.

Day-Night Photo Shoot – The first date has been selected as Saturday May 24, 2008. The event will commence after the museum closes at 5pm. The event will feature themed ground equipment; uniformed personnel; and illuminated aircraft. The aircraft being featured for this first event will include: Vulcan, Shackleton, Hastings & Buccaneer. Admission costs £20 per person and places will be limited to 50 people. Anyone interested is asked to email in for details via the museum website.

Off-Site Events 2008

A series of talks based on the Avro Vulcan during five decades of service with the RAF has been arranged at the Holy Trinity Community Centre, Boundary Road, Newark, NG24 4AU.

22 May 2008 @ 2000 hours – Flying the Vulcan – by Group Captain John Laycock.

21 August 2008 @ 2000 hours – Fighting the Vulcan – by Squadron Leader High Prior.

20 November 2008 @ 2000 hours – Showing the Vulcan – by Squadron Leader David Thomas.

There will be just 200 places available for each talk and tickets will cost just £5.00 per person.

RAF Valley Charity Photocall

The RAF Valley Charity Photocall will take place at RAF Valley in Anglesey on Thursday 14th August 2008 between 0830 and 1600hrs.

Celebrating 90 years of the Royal Air Force and 70 years since the first operational Spitfire flew with 19 Sqn.

Limited to 750 places, the remainder of places will be made available to the public from the 2nd April via the website at www.valleyaviationsociety.net

SUPPORT OUR PARAS

There is an event at Old Sarum airfield, Salisbury, Wiltshire on 25th May to raise money for casualties of the Parachute Regiment as they are about to deploy to Afghanistan.

Apart from a range of other exciting ground attractions, there will be some 55 aircraft flying in the show lasting some 2 1/2 hours - Spitfire, Hurricane, Dakota, Mustang, Aerostars etc. Full details are on the web-site www.sopara.org.uk. 100% of profit goes to the Airborne Forces Charity. Ticket prices are very reasonable compared to other airshows - £16 family of 4, £8 adult or £4 child. These are early bird, on-line prices.

National Museum of Flight Airshow

The National Museum of Flight Airshow takes place at East Fortune Airfield, Scotland on Saturday 26 July 2008 from 10:00-17:00.

Come along to the National Museum of Flight’s annual Airshow for an action packed day out that all the family will enjoy!

Visit East Fortune Airfield on Saturday 26 July for the National Museum of Flight’s only air display. In the afternoon there will be over two hours of breath taking, high octane aerial displays, ranging from historic warbirds to contemporary military jets.

Queen's Birthday Flypast 2008

The Queen's Birthday flypast will take place over London on the 14th June 2008.

The rehearsals for the Queen's Birthday flypast will take place 11th-13th June 2008 (3 days are chosen in case of bad weather etc).

A large formation of aircraft will form Her Majesty The Queen's 82nd Birthday Flypast on 14 June 2008; rehearsals for this flypast will be held during the period 11-13 June 2008. The rehearsals will start in the vicinity of Southwold, Suffolk then route to RAF Marham, Norfolk and conclude at RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire. The Flypast itself will form up at Southwold, route via Ipswich, abeam Colchester, Chelmsford and enter the London City CTR South of Stapleford; the formation will overfly Buckingham Palace and route via RAF Northolt, RAF Halton and disperse in the RAF Brize Norton area.
